Making people happy has to be the number one reason why I love being a Realtor. There's nothing quite like finding the perfect home for a first time homebuyer and seeing the excitement on their face! Or perhaps it is seeing the sheer relief on the face of a seller who is ready to move on to another area or level and they receive an offer that we can negotiate to their highest expectations. Whether it's a buyer or a seller, achieving the highest level of satisfaction for them is my number one goal. Diligence in the area of communication, staying up-to-date in the area of technology, providing excellent marketing, being thorough, and honestly representing my clients in the best way possible are all skills and traits I have and use that make me say, "Wow!, I love my job!" Technically, a REALTOR is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics. To me, it's just the beginning.
The Code establishes time-honored and baseline principles that come from the collective experiences of REALTORS® since the Code of Ethics was first established in 1913. Those principles can be loosely defined as:
Loyalty to clients;
Fiduciary (legal) duty to clients;
Cooperation with competitors;
Truthfulness in statements and advertising; and non-interference in exclusive relationships that other REALTORS® have with their clients.
To earn a designation, a REALTOR® a real estate agent has taken coursework and demonstrated specific skills, performance and knowledge in a particular area of the real estate industry.
